Top Travel Gadgets for International Vacations
DJI Osmo Action 4 Adventure Camera (Water Proof)
This water proof camera for travel has actually been on my wishlist for a while. It’s the perfect camera for the adventure traveler that actually produces very nice 4K videos. I’ve read TONS of reviews, watched youtube videos comparing it to the GoPro, and of course did my Reddit research, and this camera gets really great reviews.
Another draw to this product was the price point, which at $289 is pretty decent for a nice underwater camera that would typically only be used on vacation. With recent drop of the DJI Action 5, the price of the DJI Action 4 may see a price decrease, making it one of the best travel gadgets for tropical vacations.

Price: $289
I came across this tiktok of a woman free diving with whales that was actually filmed with a DJI Action 5, and she strongly recommends it over the GoPro. Definitely something to add to your birthday wishlist ;).
Magnetic Portable Charger
My least favorite experience is when I board a plane expecting there to be an outlet to charge my phone and there is no outlet! Or even worse, the outlet is there, but it doesn’t even work (talking to you American Airlines). Another item I’ve added to this best travel gadgets for international trips is of course the portable charger.
This is also great after a long day of touring around a city, and being able to recharge your phone. Gone are the days of desperately searching for an outlet in the local McDonald’s!

Travel Outlet Converter
If you plan on being a globe trotter one of the best vacation essentials is a plug converter that you can use anywhere! I bought one years ago and it has been my best friend ever since! From Kenya to all over Europe and South America, this travel adapter has been super handy.
These days many come with a surge protector as well so I highly recommend splurging a little because it is definitely worth the price. And it’s something that you’ll hopefully buy once and never need again! Be sure to check the voltage of the country you’re traveling to before you go.

Solar-powered Charging Pack
Magnetic portable chargers are great for your phone, but when you’re traveling around a new city or hiking in the woods, it can be hard or impossible to find an outlet to charge your other devices. That’s why one of the best gadgets for international trips is a solar powered charging packs. This one charges up to 3 devices at once and provides hours of charging time to ensure your phone or camera is ready to go!

Water Proof Speaker
Of course a beach trip is not complete if it doesn’t include a speaker, which is why I’ve included a water proof speaker as one of the best travel gadgets for international trips. I actually recently purchased this item for a pool day and tested it in the water and had no issues at all! The battery life is fantastic and it’s small enough to fit in the smallest carry-on bag.

Kindle E-Reader
I have to be honest I’m not the biggest fan of E-Readers! I prefer a physical book, especially because I feel like we’re always looking at screens both at work and at home. However, for long haul flights sometimes it’s not always feasible to bring multiple books on your trip, so I would recommend a Kindle E-Reader. I’ve had one in the past and the glare-free display makes it easy to read on the sunniest of beaches.

Vacuum Storage Bags with an Electric Pump
In a different blog post on best travel must haves I’ve suggested using vacuum sealed bags if you’re an overpacker like me. It helps to add more space to your luggage so you can do tons of shopping abroad. However, I’ve always used a manual sealed bags which may not work for everyone. These bags have an electric pump which are perfect for those not interested in using there hands (or their body) to press all of the air out.

SIMO Solis Portable Wifi
One of the typical travel issues is going to another country and trying to find a SIM card or paying crazy fees to your carrier back home. This travel portable wifi from SIMO makes it super easy to instantly get connected abroad for up to 10 devices. I’ve used a friend’s portable wifi before and it was super easy to get connected and the download speeds were fast. Please be aware that this device works with 140+ countries, which is a lot but not everywhere! Review the list before purchasing.
