Outside of travel, my greatest passion is environmental sustainability and social responsibility. With a degree in Environmental Studies and a career rooted in corporate sustainability, Iām committed to weaving eco-conscious practices into every journey I take. My sustainable travel blog reflects this mission by showcasing how luxury and responsibility can beautifully coexist.
Combining my love for travel and sustainability is a priority of mine and I hope to share that with you! This sustainable travel blog isn’t just about the environment but it’s also about sustaining or improving the health and happiness of the local communities that we visit.
Here’s a few tips on eco-friendly travel, and ways a travel advisor like me can support you and plan the vacation of your dreams.
My 3 Top Tips for Traveling Responsibly
Prioritize Sustainable Transportation
When traveling we instinctively look to fly to our destinations, but in many cases there are alternate modes of transportation that could get us where we are going. I am the biggest fan of using trains! Trains use substantially less energy per passenger compared to planes and reduces emissions compared to driving in a car alone. In places like Europe it can be easier, more efficient, and sometimes faster to take the train. Of course, Europe isn’t the only place that has great public transportation: countries like Japan and even Peru have great transit systems throughout their country.
Of course there are times where flying is the only option but there are things we can do as passangers to be as energy efficient as possible. Options such as flying directly, flying with more eco-conscious airlines, and packing light so that the plane has to use less fuel to carry the weight. These are small things that we all can do in the event that air travel is impossible to avoid.

Support Local Economies First
Before traveling, do some online research on ways to support the local economies wherever you’re going! It may seem obvious or easy to support communities when you travel just by shopping in random stores, however you can’t always be sure if international companies have operations in touristy locations.
A sustainable travel blog like mine will tell you exactly where you can go or what to look out for when you travel to certain countries. This will ensure that you’re an ethical travel that considers the needs of local communities before you go!
Discover Eco-Friendly Accommodations
One of my favorite parts about traveling is truly the accommodations, and being able to stay somewhere that I know is doing their part to remain conscious of their emissions and impact is important to me. So if you’re interested in how to reduce your carbon footprint when traveling, definitely consider doing research on your hotel or resort. It is important to do your research and make sure to avoid places that may be “greenwashing” (when companies try to look “green” without really doing anything for the environment).
One of my dream eco-conscious hotel is the Playa Viva in Acapulco, Mexico. (which comes with perks if you book with me!)
