Some of my favorite travel experiences has been during this time and it’s a fantastic opportunity to have sunny winter escape in the middle of the coldest time of the year here in the east coast.
If you’re like me and need a break from the seasonal depression keep reading to see some of the best spots to beat the winter blue:
Honolulu, Hawaii
Hawaii is for sure a destination hot spot, but the best time to go isn’t in the summer. In the fall/winter tourist crowds drop significantly and it’s a great opportunity to beat the crowds, but still experience all that the islands have to offer. From snorkeling to surfing there’s an abundance of opportunities to have a summer like experience in the winter.
January is a great time to visit the islands because the weather is still warm enough for the beach, many people have left after the holidays and prices for accommodations tend to be cheaper.
If you decide to visit Hawaii for a sunny winter escape be sure to visit the cultural centers such as the Polynesian Cultural Center (Book through Viator for great deals) to learn more about the history of the people.
Sedona, Arizona
If you’re looking to stay within the US and want a relaxing retreat for your 2024 winter getaway, look no further than Sedona, Arizona. Sedona is every wellness girlies’ dream with beautiful resorts, hiking trails, and more.

Another slower paced destination for your sunny winter escape is La Paz, Mexico. Easy to get to from the Los Cabos International Airport, this beach town is the perfect place for relaxation if you’re not someone keen on the party vibes of Los Cabos.
Turks and Caicos
A Caribbean vacation is always a must in the winter! It’s post hurricane season and the best way to beat the winter chill. T&C is best for travelers looking for a very relaxing and easy going vacation. Thrills and adventures are best suited in other locations, but if you’re just looking to go to some of the best beaches in the world for a few days this is the best location for your 2024 winter getaway.
Roatan, Honduras
If you’re a big fan of snorkeling (like me!) this is the winter destination for you. There’s great food, beaches, and activities so for the adventure traveler this would be the best place to go.. Roatan also has rainforests with tours featuring sloths, exotic birds, and more.
Sum it Up
This winter consider booking a trip during these colder months to a more tropical location. You’ll be able to take advantage of lower prices for accommodations and beat the summer crowds.
