This year I will be heading back to Miami for Art Basel weekend and put together this Art Basel Miami 2025 guide for those going for their firs time! I have to be honest, Miami wasn’t always my favorite city in the world. It always felt a little superficial to me. But last year I went to Art Basel Miami for the first time and had an amazing time and met some really cool people!
Keep in mind this is my experience as someone who was somewhat there for the art, but mostly there for the events and parties! If you’re interested in chic nightlife, celebrity and brand events, and something you’d be interested in, keep reading to learn more!
The Basics
When is Art Basel Miami 2025?
So there’s multiple Art Basels with the OG located in Switzerland. However the first weekend of every December the event is hosted in Miami and it is probably the best time of year to be in Miami. The weather is perfect and to be honest it can get a little chilly at night.
How to Get Tickets for Art Basel Miami 2025?
Art Basel tickets are sold online, and there is a main convention that many people go to for the art installations. I think if that’s something you’re interested in then for sure buy your tickets as early as possible. If you work at a major company, see if they’re hosting any events and if you can get tickets that way. I’ve seen credit card and tech companies host events so there may be opportunities to get tickets that way!
The Nightlife
What is so special about Art Basel Miami Nightlife?
Art Basel Miami is a million different types of vibes an energy dumped into one city for the weekend. There’s artists, collectors, celebrities, DJ, brands, companies, and party goers all in one place celebrating art or whatever brand they’re trying to push. This changes the energy of the city and honestly I love it!
So how do I get invited to parties at Art Basel Miami?
First of all the easiest way is to follow your favorite DJs! Plenty of DJs are posting at the events they’re working at or any club takeovers they’re doing.
And then there’s The Spreadsheet. There’s some guy (or girl) who posts a spreadsheet every year of all of the events and whether they are open to the public, invite only, guest list etc. The spreadsheet is usually posted on the Art Basel subreddit, but it’s not ready yet for Art Basel Miami 2025! Once you get into these events YOU MUST NETWORK! Most people who go once, come back again the next year. So make sure to talk to people, make friends, and connect with those you meet so next year you have your people. And don’t do it in a weird user type of way, offer something to them too! Beyond partying it’s a great opportunity to make friends or even professional connections.
My Top Tips for Enjoying Art Basel Miami 2025
First of all, do not overbook yourself! There’s SO MUCH to do that weekend and before you go you’ll try to plant for every single event. I’m telling you now you’ll need to add some breaks in your day. There’s day events, night events, and everything in between. There’s tons of wellness events but drinking and partying too. Do what you can and don’t try to be everywhere.
Go with people who are already in the know. If you have a friend that’s been a few times and knows who to follow for the best events then you’ll have a great time. Running around blindly will get you to some okay events and art installations, but there’s lists to get on and free food and drink to enjoy!
Have fun and socialize! It’s supposed to be a fun weekend so enjoy yourself, eat lots of good food, and be friendly and open to meeting anyone and everyone!
