Where to Eat in Madrid: The Best Food Lover’s Guide

Recently I posted about my experience living in Madrid, and told you guys about some of my favorite activities, food, and nightlife. However now I just want to focus on where to eat in Madrid for the absolute best meals with a range of prices.

Of course, Madrid is a major city so it won’t include every single amazing restaurant, however if you think of something in Madrid that can’t be missed please comment below! Just in case I make it there soon 🙂

Beyond Paella: Where to in Madrid for an Incredible Experience

Sushita

I remember randomly stumbling across Sushita because of it’s beautiful decor, but then ended up coming back three different times with different people because the sushi is sooo good!

There’s 8 different locations in Madrid (which is crazy), but I’ve been to 2 (Miguel Angel and Alberto Aguilera). They all have different vibes but the food was perfect at all of them. I can’t wait to go back and try their different locations.

Takos al Pastor

I’ve always said Europe does not know how to do good Mexican food. However that changed when this restaurant opened. Takos al Pastor has actual authentic Mexican tacos that are only about 1-2 euros depending on what you order.

It’s such good quick food that’s cheap and accessible. The line can be long sometimes but it’s quick and worth it!

Tapas in La Latina

If you’re looking for where to eat in Madrid and you have a craving for tapas, I would recommend going to La Latina neighborhood, specifically Calle Cava Baja for more authentic and traditional Spanish tapas.

Malasana is a good neihborhood for trendier spots, its a great neighborhood overall so definitely go there. For tapas you don’t really need a reservation, just walk right in! But make sure to walk around and look at a few options before you choose!

Chambao

If you want to feel fabulous while you eat, you have to hit up Chambao. It’s a full-on “Fashion Grillhouse” where the meat is top-tier and the vibe is pure, chic group party energy. You’ll be sinking your teeth into a perfect steak or fresh seafood, maybe catching a live show. It’s the spot where dinner turns into an event, and you’ll leave feeling totally glam!

Superchulo

Superchulo is where you go when you want to eat a rainbow! If you’re looking for where to eat in Madrid this spot has food that’s bursting with color and flavor. Forget everything you know about “healthy food” being dull; here, you’re getting psychedelic-looking hummus, pink lattes, and comfort food that just happens to be plant-based. It’s happy food in a happy place, making your taste buds and your Instagram feed equally thrilled.

I had a blue pasta for the first time, which I think had spirulina!

Tripea

Get ready for an adventure because Tripea is slinging Peruvian-Asian fusion right inside the bustling Mercado de Vallehermoso! This place is tiny, popular, and totally worth the hype. The chef takes everything he learned traveling the world and serves it up in a banging tasting menu. Seriously, expect big, bold, unexpected flavors, it’s loud, it’s fun, and it’s one of the most exciting meals you’ll have in Madrid.

HER

Located in Salamanca, HER is the place for a chic, grown-up meal that’s still super relaxed. The Italian chef brings in amazing seasonal ingredients and turns them into clean, elegant Mediterranean dishes. It’s the perfect blend of feeling fancy without being stuffy. It’s beautiful food, wine, and a sophisticated atmosphere that makes you feel like super chic.

Focacciamo

If you’re looking for where to eat in Madrid and you need something quick, delicious, and super satisfying carb fix, look no further than Focacciamo. It’s all about the Roman-style focaccia that’s fluffy, crispy, and loaded with incredible Italian ingredients. Whether you grab the classic with prosciutto or go all out with one drizzled in truffle cream, this is the spot for the ultimate grab-and-go sandwich!

Los 33

Once you have your flights booked for Madrid, reserve this restaurant immediately because it can be almost impossible to get a table! This spot flawlessly merges Spanish and Uruguayan grilling traditions, so you know the parrilla (grill) game is strong. The atmosphere is warm, the decor is gorgeous, and they keep the kitchen going late, making it the ideal trendy hangout for incredible cocktails and some of the best grilled cuts in the city.

Ten Con Ten

Ten Con Ten is super popular with the Madrileños. It’s vibrant, cosmopolitan, and always buzzing. It’s one of those places where you go to see and be seen, but the food totally holds its own! They’ve got a fantastic, traveled menu that makes their truffle risotto and artichoke lasagna local legends. Whether you’re grabbing a cocktail at the library bar or settling in for dinner, it’s a non-stop, stylish party.
